Marouane Chamakh
We are now at the stage where we all know that Adebayor will be moving to Manchester City I don’t think anyone doubts it now.
Which leaves the question what will Wenger do with £ 25 million, one option that has been mentioned is Chamakh. Wenger already spoke about the player saying the following.
However, should Adebayor move on, the Gunners boss could move for Moroccan international Chamakh.
‘Yes, but only in the event of a departure,’ Wenger said of his interest in Chamakh.
This worries me because I have just been doing some research on him and let’s just say his goal scoring record is not great.
At 25 years old to have only scored 53 goals in 7 years is not the sort of stat that will get fans excited. I have a bad feeling once again we will be left wondering where the cash as gone and why a proper replacement was not brought in.

It’s important to remember that Ade had a very average scoring record when he came to us. AW worked his magic on him (albeit not to the extent of his transformation of TH14). From clips (not always a reliable guide) Chamak seems to be good in the air, have good close control and finds space off the ball. Perhaps AW could turn him into a 25-goals-a-year player. That his work ethic and commitment to the cause will be better than Ade’s can be assured. Go for it and spend the rest of the cash on a tough experienced DM who is quicker than the able Song. Cana or Inler if, as seems the case, Melo has gone to Juve.
Rather Huntelaar, or dont buy a striker and get a Dm and another CB.
The only thing that will help Chamakh get to Arsenal is technicality which is very good. He is also good in air which is where Ade got most of his goals. And at Arsenal with there attacking style of play Chamakh is bound to score ore goals then in France. He can also create goals by drifting out which is why he has a good assist stats.
BTW some if City pals tend to suggest that Ade move to Eastlands will be for about 18-20 mil. + kompany , as wenger is looking to solve his midfield trouble & kompany is someone who he has been tracking for some time now.
the stats you showed aren’t accurate some of the goals are from nowhere and it doesn’t add up to a proper total
I have watched a few videos of Marouane and should say he is worst than Ade. Yes its true Arsene can work magic but this season Arsenal have to win trophies and getting a new chap will not help. Some people were talking about Dzeko or Huntlaar, but surel these guys are proven strikers and if we can get then with GPB 25m would be great for Arsenal. Ade going is good for Arsenal since he was not so good though he scored some great goals.
what is his assist record like? I heard that that more than compensates. Would he be a cert to start when Dudu, RVP and Niklas are fit anyway?

From the videos, it seems his work rate is high, and he is skillful. Might be a good signing. If we do sign him, Im sure we’ll have done our homework

Buy Huntelaar and Matuidi. Fuck You Wenger… I say Buy Matuidi!! We need a defensive midfielder more than anyone else. Denilson and Song is good, but just not good enough at the moment. They need at least another or two years at the top before they can be the real DM. We need someone with experience, power, speed, excellent reading of the game, someone who can make passes and tackle properly. That person is Matuidi!! Wenger get him now!!!
i wud lyk 2 agree with davi.chamakh is really a more skillful playa than Ade, he has great speed and veri good control of da ball. he has the qualities of an attackin team lyk arsenal. so he wud most definitely be a great buy. putin that aside, i think we are badly in need of a DM, wenger shud by now hav learnt that his gambles cant work n thats wat cost us last season. we need a dm, and that will be all for the summer.
Ady barn door has always missed more chances then scored, i have no personal problem with him but i think he has built his reputation thanks to the great creative play from the team around him – when he scrored 30 goals he had rosicky, Hlep, RVP, fabs, gilbeto around him to set him up. If he scored a 1/3 of the chances he was given he would have scored over 50 goals on that season! (2007-08. To buy another youngish player in would set back the development of our massively talented youngsters. I Hope we buy an old head, Martins from Newcastle would be great and Cheap!
People have to rememeber that this guy came up through the system. Most of his “appearances” came from the bench. He has just started playing regularly (maybe around 06-07). and besides Adebayor’s record at Monaco was worse not to mention he had a poor first touch and no awareness. Chamakh, luckliy enough has all of these. Also with the amount of chances the team creates along with the fact that he is technically sound he has the ability to score 20 a season. I have wacthed him play a little bit for Bordeaux & Morroco. The guy is alright, he can hold up the ball really well as well as bringing other people into the game. Ade can hold the ball well but he’s mediocre when he has to carry the ball with his feet. HAVE FAITH

Your chart clearly shows just how average Chamakh is. Will not start in the current Arsenal squad, is not as good as Ade and does not offer us a Plan B like Ade does.

I’m touting Eduardo as our top scorer for the next season. All the other forwards including Chamakh and even TH are better at creating goals. So yes, there is some worry in that department but without defensive midfield the strikers won’t even get a chance. Hopefully we get an experienced one.
I think we can all accept that Arsene has little to no cash to spend. This is bargain basement stuff which may always be the case now. Still, we almost lost top 4 last season and i thought we were challenging for honors. Scary stuff!!!
buy good center back instead, hangeland come t us now….. put toure in def midfield role, i think he can do better than yaya there. striker? hmmmmm if not sure he is good enough for us then better keep the money.

i think we have a good squads,but we need an additional striker.wenger has to do something cos i know the next trophy is ours.we need an additional striker to strenghten our squad.
Arsene Wenger is a very cheap guy! I think he is loosing on Marouane Chamakh. Chamakh is really good and he was far better than adebayour when they were playing in the same league during the season 2003/2004.
I am really angry agaisnt Wenger Policy….
I hope he can pay it one day.
