arsene-wengerWith Adebayor now gone and a reported £25 million in the bank all the focus as turned to who will replace him or maybe will he be replaced at all.

If you believe Wenger then the answer is no, he has already spoke about how he feels there is enough strength in the squad in the striking department and  in good old fashioned Wenger style turned the focus on to the players who have stayed.

“We must trust the players we have. It’s a very important season for us and I believe we are in a very strong position,”

“We have also had positive messages – players like Robin van persie and Cesc Fabregas are staying here.

“I believe we have a strong enough squad to meet the targets we have.”

At first you would think this is Just the manager been quite on his plans but then you quickly think back to previous seasons and realise there’s every chance he is telling the truth.

But has to be expected the papers are full of stories with Arsenal linked to strikers. Chamakh seems to be the one most linked to Arsenal and Wenger has spoken about him which doesn’t happen very often, but with one of the worst goal ratios in football we should all hope it’s not true.

Then there’s Huntelaar, another player been constantly linked but I feel this is more the fans desire rather than an actual target. And with a price believed to be in the region of £20 million it seems rather unlikely.

Today has seen Gignac become the latest striker to be linked, Gignac was the top goal scorer in Ligue 1 and would seem a good option but once again the price is rumoured to be around £18 million and I just don’t see Wenger spending nearly all the Ade money on one player.

So  I think there’s a interesting few weeks ahead for Arsenal and I for one have no idea who if anyone will come in, And I’m not sure what reaction the fans will give if no more players are brought in.
