Jay Simpson says he will not stay at West Brom after this season.
The young English striker joined the Baggies in January but admits he has not enjoyed his spell in the Midlands.
Jay admits he is frustrated by West Brom’s struggle to stay in the top flight. He said:
“My main aim was to get experience but I wanted to blend that with enjoyment.
“That’s not what I’ve really been able to do because of the pressure we’ve been under.
“I’ve learned a lot. I came here and changed my game to adapt to what members of staff were telling me.
“But maybe I should have stuck to doing what got me here in the first place.
“It’s been difficult and maybe I’m not really enjoying it too much.”
Jay says he wants to fight for his place at Arsenal and “make a difference.
“Nothing has been said to me but I want to go back to Arsenal.
“The deal was for me to come to West Brom and get first-team experience.
“If I was thinking about coming back on loan, then what’s the point in going back to Arsenal? It wouldn’t make sense.
“My plan is to go back to Arsenal and get into their first team.
“Everyone wants to play in the Premier League but I want to go back and make a difference.
“I don’t want to keep going out on loan. That’s not why I signed a deal with Arsenal.”
