Bayern are rumoured to be preparing offer a £5million-a-year offer to tempt Wenger away from Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger, who has rejected offers from footballing giants Real Madrid and Barcelona in the past is now Bayern’s main target for the summer. But with a contract to run until 2011 and recently saying he’d be prepared to sign an extension it look like Bayern will be left disappointed.
The current coach of Bayern, Jurgen Klinsmann was already considered to be on borrowed time ahead of Wednesday’s 4-0 first leg quarter-final defeat against Barcelona, after which Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said:
‘It was an absolute disaster. We have to analyse things in private and make a rational decision.
Bayern will hope to tempt Wenger to The Allianz Arena by promising that he will be fully backed with the cash to bankroll lucrative contracts and big-name signings.
