_42373262_given416Reports today have linked Arsenal with a move for Shay Given, Steven Taylor and Charles N’Zogbia from Newcastle.

For me Shay Given would be a good move the 32 year old Republic of Ireland keeper would cost Arsenal around £8million and would be a good replacement for Almunia who I don’t think as not done much wrong but is not to the standard Arsenal should have.

22 year old Steven Taylor has been out of favour at Newcastle for much of this season but has forced his way back into the team recently. Taylor signed a £30,000-a-week deal last season but knows he could almost double his money with a move to The Emirates.

But I don’t see Taylor has been any better than the players we have now and surely Wenger needs to be looking at bringing in players to take first team places not squad players.

22 year old French midfielder N’Zogbia is out of contract at the end of the season and has made it perfectly clear he sees his career away from Newcastle But like with Taylor I don’t see how he is better than the players we have  and what we need is a out and out winger so again I would see him as a squad player not first team.

We all know Wenger needs to spend some cash this January but apart from Given I don’t see these players bringing the extra strength to the first team we need.
