In an article in today’s Sunday Telegraph, Arsene Wenger could apparently leave Ashburton Grove when his current contract expires in 2011. Seemingly, as he has quite close contacts with French Club, Paris St Germain, he could end up as President, succeeding the recently installed Charles Villeneuve who is a friend of Wenger.

The Frenchman has been Arsenal manager since 1996, and has presided over some of the finest success The Club have seen, certainly in the modern era. However, his goal is still to bring home the one piece of silverware missing from the collection, The European Cup.

I think Arsene also said that he wasn’t interested in doing jobs other then managerial role, that was in response to suggestions that Arsenal’s board were ready to offer him any position in the upper echelons in the club after he finishes his job as manager.
But I do envisage him leaving Arsenal, no one EVER stays at a club forever.

It’s a few years away yet and if Arsene is going to be an Arsenal manager further than 2011 we wont know until the last minute – because that’s how he has always done it.
