Despite attention from Inter Milan, midfielder Alex Hleb is committed to the Arsenal cause, and is already looking forward to next season at Ashburton Grove.
Inter have confirmed their interest, but Hleb still has two further years to run on his existing contract.
In an interview with The Sunday Times, the Belarus International stated that he enjoys his time at Arsenal, and that there will be more to come from both himself and the team.
“All I can say is that I enjoy the game here and enjoy playing for Arsenal. There is more to come from this team and from me.”
Although Arsenal are admired The World over for their style of passing play, Hleb admitted that perhaps Arsenal should look to win games in a less admirable style on occasions.
“We have to accept that victory will not always look beautiful. We need to learn to play to win, not just play the beautiful game. The win is more important than beauty and my feeling is that playing the beautiful game is no compensation for not winning a trophy.”
Hopefully this will be one less thing to accupy the mind of manager Arsene Wenger, who will now be able to focus on contract talks with Matty Flamini.
