This is one headline we would all love to wake up and see but we all know it will never happen, yesterday Man City tried the unthinkable with a 100 million pound bid for the Brazilian star. It looks like the deal will not happen but how close did they come to landing one of the best.
Not because of his chance to win anything like the champions league and not because of there reputation around the world but because the simply have no limit to what they can spend.
But what does all this mean for Arsenal, Is this another sign that Arsenal need to change there transfer policy and go for the big name players and could it mean the Arsenal board need to sell up to one of of the billionaires that want the club.
Or does it have no relevance to Arsenal at all and do they keep going as they are now. I’m sure with time Wenger’s kids will come good and with few more signings like Nasri along the way Arsenal will be able to compete, but with more and more clubs becoming mega rich I am slightly worried that Arsenal will not be able to keep pace with the old and new rich boys.
Of course the plan is once the stadium is paid off Arsenal will be OK but could it be too late by then or am I just worried over nothing right now im not so sure.

You are worried over nothing mate. Chelski signed evrybody they could lay their hands on at exhorbitant fees, where are they now? Their saviour is getting bored and has even refused to give Scolari funds to bring in new players. If they fail to win the league this would be their 3rd season running.
All we need to do is keep AW and keep producing the best that we can to compete in the bid stage.
ARSENAL 4 THE TITLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what happens when our “billionairre pulls out and leaves us with the debt? Tha has angered me because arsenal supporters are fighting to avoid it. We are more likely to all chip in for the club than sell to Usmanov. Just look at Hearts, they are screwed because their sugar daddy has shafted them
i wii advice to get arshavinin time once d guy is rely comited to play for arsenal
I’m not a big fan of Arsenal but I think you have nothing to worried about, it’s not like you are languishing mid table or something.
By the way I am Carlos Velas uncle
I live here in Cancun!! If you see him tell him to behave with the English chicas!!
lol 2 minutes of wasting my time on a pointless blog but one thing that i spot out was a comment from a truly great fan here is the statement ” what happens when our “billionairre pulls out and leaves us with the debt? Tha has angered me because arsenal supporters are fighting to avoid it. We are more likely to all chip in for the club than sell to Usmanov” ny charles brooker much respect for that statement we are more likely to chip in for the club than to sell to Usmanov.
Premier League neutral here. Like someone else said. Look at Chelsea.
Arsenal seem to be (intentional or not) following a Man Utd (or rather a more long term, professional, business style) approach. Frankly its an approach many teams should have but don’t. Give the manager lots time to build something that will last. Unlike Chelsea who bought their way to instant success.
I know many will not like the Man Utd comparison because they too will drop millions on one player e.g. Berbatov. But I just mean in the sense that your boys will come good and the long term approach might not be great for right now, it will ensure long term stability.
But I think having one or two big name purchases are good for the club in many ways. One of the most important of which is inspiring your fans by showing ambition. Wenger seems to have the patience of a saint. Too patient for some. But hang in there. I think Arsenal are the only team worthy (based on their football) to challenge Man Utd for the EPL. Liverpool and Chelski don’t have the class, they might have the luck but dont play the football that makes you go WTF! How silky was that?
So all in all. Yes maybe WSnger has to change his transfer policy. But I don’t think he should do a complete 180 and start buying only superstars.
