The French striker Nicolas Anelka has spoken on how he regrets his decision to leave Arsenal.
Anelka joined the Gunners in 1997 for a fee of £500,000. In 1999 Anelka was sold to Real Madrid for a fee of £22.3 million pounds.
“Everyone makes mistakes in life and I can say that I made one in leaving Arsenal,”
“That is because things have gone badly for me since then.”
“But I could not know what the future held in store for me.”
“I could have spent my entire career at Arsenal. I took decisions thinking I was doing the right thing.”
“If I had my time again I would do things differently. I made my decisions thinking they were the right ones at the time. “
“My life has not gone as I imagined it would. There have been highs and lows and I have experienced things I did not want to. I have been labelled a spoiled child but why – because I chose to do what I wanted?”
“I am now more mature and confident than I was at 20.”

I think that as been the case coz at times some decision we take thinking they are the best end up been the worst we take.but i want to wish him well and pick himself up and move on.am an arsenal fan but the truth is that we make some decision that it will hurt us but that dose not mean we will never move on.
What are you on Richard? Move on? No way. I’m still angry that a kid we brought up can have nerves to diss us as he did when he moved to Real Madrid. I’m very angry coz we could have had a marvelous pairing of Thiery henry and him. This I dare to say would have been a dream pairing and the rewards would have been massive in terms of silverware and the joy especially the joy. So, please Mr Omoniyi jst zip it because you are either a John come lately or know f$cko
Comon’ no mistake at all! 22.3 million helped build our high tech training centre to kickstart the talent productions! DOn’t regret nothing, u did us good!
We bought him for 500K and sold him on for more then 22M. This allowed us to build/improve our training facilities.
It may be a bad decision on his part, but I feel it was very good from an Arsenal point of view, as an Arsenal fan his acceptance that it was a mistake further vindicates us.
Arsenal were the only party who benefited out of that transfer.
